PRK Surgery

PRK (phtorefractive keratectomy) is another way to reshape the cornea with laser technology. The lasers used are the same as for LASIK surgery. Some patients may be candidates for PRK instead of LASIK. One advantage of PRK for some patients is that there is no need to create a tissue flap as in LASIK. Another advantage is that higher corrections can be done with PRK than LASIK, especially for patients with thinner corneas.
